What Would You Do?

Oversee and optimize network planning for Palliser shipping operations throughout the United States. Candidate will have a deep understanding of logistics processes, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record of driving efficiency and cost savings in a fast-paced shipping environment.

Primary duties and responsibilities of this position are outlined below:

• Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of carriers for pickup and delivery of shipments within the USA.

• Proactively communicate with carriers and customers to provide updates on shipment status, delivery schedules, and any delays or issues.

• Respond promptly to customer inquiries, resolve issues, and escalate complex problems to appropriate personnel as needed.

• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely loading and unloading of freight, optimizing warehouse operations for efficient shipment handling.

• Maintain accurate records of shipments, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and transportation documentation.

• Collaborate with internal teams, including Manufacturing, Scheduling, Warehouse, Logistics and Customer Care to coordinate special delivery requests, expedited shipments, and other customer-specific requirements.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies related to transportation and logistics operations.

• Assist in the implementation of process improvements and best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the dispatching function.

What Do You Bring?

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics freight dispatching, with a focus on US shipping operations. Strong knowledge of road transportation; safety and compliance; and US DOT regulations.

• Excellent communication with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick decisions under pressure to resolve issues and ensure on-time delivery.

• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency and strong comfort level with Excel. AS400 experience.
