What Would You Do?

Oversee and optimize network planning for Palliser shipping operations throughout the United States. Candidate will have a deep understanding of logistics processes, exceptional analytical skills, and a proven track record of driving efficiency and cost savings in a fast-paced shipping environment.

Primary duties and responsibilities of this position are outlined below:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize shipping routes, transportation modes, and distribution networks across the USA.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Manufacturing, Scheduling, Warehouse, Logistics, Customer Care and Credit to ensure seamless coordination of logistics activities.

  • Analyze transportation costs, performance metrics, and industry trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and service improvement.

  • Support cross-functional initiatives to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the logistics function.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company policies related to transportation and logistics operations.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to other logistics staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

What Do You Bring?

  • Post secondary degree; diploma; or designation in logistics preferred or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics freight planning, with a focus on US shipping operations. Strong knowledge of road transportation; safety and compliance; and US DOT regulations.

  • Excellent communication with the ability to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve Logistics objectives and deliver results.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make quick decisions under pressure to resolve issues and ensure on-time delivery.

  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency and strong comfort level with Excel. AS400 experience.
