Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
A Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). A combination of experience in provider recruitment and talent acquisition totaling a minimum of seven (7) years. Experience working with Human Resources and Employment Practice regulations. Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems and HR databases. Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Human Resource Management or relevant field. Additional years of experience in provider recruitment. Experience with application of AAPPR tools and standards. Experience with Taleo/Oracle ATS. Experience with PeopleSoft.Brief Description of Duties:
The desired applicant will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and strong program management skills. The desired applicant must be extremely responsive and customer service oriented. The desired applicant has strong executive presence and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster long-term relationships (with internal teams, external partners and candidates). The desired applicant will have experience maintaining compliance with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all employment matters, advising and mitigating risk to the agency.

Duties:

  • Responsible for the development, continuous evaluation and audit of recruiting strategies to attract highly qualified and diverse provider talent to the organization and creation of robust pipelines for current and future provider openings
  • Develop and foster external partnerships with colleges, community organizations, job boards and Association for Advancing Physician and Provider Recruitment (AAPPR) to streamline recruitment and referral process.
  • Partners with the Renaissance School of Medicine to measure and report on key talent acquisition metrics including vacancy rates, recruitment sources and time to fill positions. Continually compare hospital performance against industry benchmarks and refine talent acquisitions strategies, approaches and process as needed to efficiently fill positions with qualified and diverse candidates.
  • Oversee all stages of candidate experience (including application, interviews, communication and relocation assistance)
  • Create internal processes for the effective and efficient pre-screening of applicants, interviewing of applicants, collection of interview evaluation forms, taking into consideration NYS Civil Services rules and regulations; applicable collective bargaining agreement(s); MOU's, etc.
  • Create internal processes to ensure that all required background checks, credentialing, and malpractice clearances, reference checks, etc. are completed in an efficient manner and in accordance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with department level and executive leadership to prepare and review the annual provider recruitment budget and manage all recruitment expenses in accordance with budgetary guidelines. Research best practices to implement creative and cost- effective solutions to difficult recruitment issues.
  • Manage, train and develop all members of the Provider Recruitment Team. Performs all duties inherent to a managerial role. Participates in hiring, training, evaluation and termination of assigned staff according to all Stony Brook Medicine policies and procedures.
  • Provide direction to Physician Recruitment Specialists, aligning their activity to support search committee formation, department interviews, candidate visits and finalist selection. Develop screening and selection processes that will provide candidates with a rewarding overall experience.
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

Special Notes:
This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.Essential Position: This has been designated as an essential position based on the duties of the job and the functions performed.
