As a CoStar Senior Technical Business Analyst on the Data Automation team you will play a key role in expanding the data platform that supports all of CoStar Group’s largest brands including, CoStar Suite, LoopNet and Homes.com. You will deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software. We firmly believe that what separates a good developer from a great one is a deep understanding of the business that they are supporting.

This position is located in Richmond, VA and offers a hybrid schedule of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week.

Responsibilities

  • Define, design and author project business, functional and technical requirements

  • Develop test case scenarios for functional, system, user acceptance and regression testing as appropriate for the initiative/project.

  • Develop and finalize all assigned artifacts and perform as the primary point of contact for all application requirement elicitation needs

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards for artifacts, templates, and quality assurance verification

  • Provide business operations support as needed

  • Assess business operations and processes to identify inefficiencies in procedures, information flows and handoffs, decisions, communications pathways and ways in which systems supporting these can be enhanced

  • Employ structured modeling techniques and tools to describe business functions, processes, information and technology designs

  • Document As-Is and To-Be process flows for existing and future systems

  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings such as business process reviews, requirements, and various status reports

  • Organize, facilitate and lead workshops.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to relate tactfully and professionally with customers at all organizational level

  • 5+ years of experience as a business analyst gathering requirements, creating test case scenarios, etc.

  • 5+ years of experience with data analysis, including SQL and business intelligence tools

  • 5+ years experience in both Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio, Project and PowerPoint)

  • Highly organized, energetic, creative, passionate, team player

  • Track record of commitment to prior employers

Preferred Qualifications And Skills

  • 5+ years project management experience

  • 5+ years experience crafting business cases

  • 5+ years experience creating user stories and technical requirements

  • Commercial Real Estate experience

  • SQL proficiency

  • Excellent attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks
