Fort Pitt Capital Group, LLC Controller – Pittsburgh, PA (In-Office) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Fort Pitt Capital Group – an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) – is currently seeking an experienced Controller to join our team.   As Controller, you’ll oversee all financial operations and accounting functions at Fort Pitt, ensuring accuracy and timelines in financial reporting while driving initiatives to enhance efficiency and streamline processes .  Your responsibilities extend to developing and implementing financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts to support business objectives.  Collaborating closely with departmental leaders, you’ll provide insightful financial analysis to guide decision-making.  Ultimately, your role as Controller is crucial in ensuring Fort Pitt’s financial integrity and guiding strategic financial decision-making.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and oversee the accounting department

  • Prepare and analyze financial information in accordance with GAAP standards

  • Collaborate with other department leaders to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes

  • Review and improve workflows in accounting systems to enhance departmental efficiency

  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting policies and procedures

  • Prepare and present monthly and quarterly financial packets and statements for presentation to Executive Leadership

  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations for payroll accounts and collaborate with HR to address payroll-related financial matters

  • Coordinate with external accounting firms for tax preparation and reporting

    Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field is required

  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience managing accounting and financial operations is required for this position

  • Ten (10) years of relevant work experience is strongly preferred

  • Prior management experience is strongly preferred for this position

    Other Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

  • Experience using MS Dynamics GP Accounting Software is required

  • Exposure to ADP software is preferred

  • Exposure to Concur software is preferred

  • Exposure to Orion software is preferred

    About The Job

  • 100% in-office work environment

  • Green Tree, PA location (Foster Plaza)

  • Reports to the Chief Administrative Officer

  • This position has supervisory responsibilities

  • Finance & Accounting team (Staff Accountants)

  • Regular Full-Time (40 hours per week)

  • Exempt/No Overtime

  • Work Schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand

  • Little to no travel is expected for this position

  • Competitive base salary
