Purpose

The Corporate FP&A Supervisor is responsible for supervising 1 to 2 direct reports, and all activities related to the Corporate FP&A Functions such as analyzing month end reports (versus budget and prior year), driving budgeting and forecasting activities at all levels of the organization, providing FP&A analysis and support for key stakeholders and areas of the business.

Accountabilities

  • Actively support and participate in the monthly financial close cycle to facilitate the production of timely and accurate reports and statements, investigate, and resolve variances

  • Provide analytics, assist with monthly/quarterly internal reporting, and support ad-hoc requests for stakeholders and various areas of the business

  • Assist and drive process efficiencies, redesigning of current processes, and streamline business processes in FP&A

  • Coach and develop direct reports with regular performance reviews related to SMART goal setting and achievement.

  • Foster an environment of excellence, teamwork and collaboration that builds upon furthering the goals and objectives.

  • Assist in providing support during the budgeting and forecasting process as well as liaise with departments and areas of the business to complete deliverables.

  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements/best practice initiatives for the department.

  • Assist the Manager and Director, FP&A in ad-hoc tasks to help fulfil the FP&A department’s responsibilities

Education and Experience

  • University Degree - Bachelor degree: Accounting, Economics, or related field

  • CFA/CPA/MBA is a strong asset

  • 5+ years of experience in Finance, specifically Financial Planning & Analysis

  • 1+ years of leadership experience, having the ability to successfully coach and mentor a team of Analysts

  • Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

  • Proficient in financial modeling and forecasting software, as well as Microsoft Excel. Proficiency with other software systems such as Hyperion, SAC and SAP are considered an asset.

  • Strong relationship building and presentation skills is a requirement

  • High attention to detail and desire to learn

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
