Description

Bay Area litigation firm has an immediate opening for a Contract Attorney! This Contract Attorney will join a team of attorneys and support staff focusing on employment defense litigation. As an Attorney with this firm, you'll be assigned projects related to various aspects of the litigation lifecycle including legal research, drafting motions and briefs, discovery, and trial preparation. This position is full-time hours and can be completed on a hybrid basis in Oakland, CA. If you're looking for a contract position that provides consistent work, this is the role for you! The ideal candidate will be a California licensed attorney who has 2-7+ years of civil litigation experience, prior employment law experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal research via WestLaw and LexisNexis

• Draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and memos

• Discovery management including document review and preparing discovery related pleadings

• Prepare for arbitration, depositions, and trial

• Project as assigned

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• California Bar license is required

• 1-7+ years of California-based civil litigation experience in an attorney capacity is required

• Prior employment law experience is preferred but not required
