Summary About the Position: Works under the general supervision of the Supervisor of the Cost Engineering & Specifications Team. Responsible for supporting the supervisor as a team lead, leading office staff within the team to provide cost engineering services supporting Civil Works projects. Duties involve a broad range of specialized activities related to cost engineering functions. Responsibilities Apply engineering expertise on large and complex Civil Works projects, as well as addressing unique project features that may be without precedent. Utilize staff to provide support by creating Cost and Schedule Risk Assessments (CSRAs) that identify potential project cost and schedule risks, evaluates the probability of such risk occurring, and assigns a range of costs. Produce project cost certifications and recertifications. Develop costs estimates and schedules for a wide range of projects completing design and nearing construction award. Serve as Acting Chief of the team in absence of the supervisor. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
