• Toman Engineering Companys internship program is open to high school students looking to pursue a degree in land surveying or civil engineering, as well as college students enrolled in a land surveying and/or civil engineering technology program. This is a temporary position that will provide introductory surveying and drafting services. Interns will work alongside surveyors and draftsman Monday through Friday throughout the summer and/or during the school year (times are flexibile and will be discussed with candidates as to what schedule fits best for them).

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist Land Surveyor to gather field data and general surveying, including land, boundary and topographic surveys, construction staking and other similar land surveying duties
• Become familiar with the plans, specifications and related material for each project and be able to utilize the information appropriately
• Operate instruments required for the collection or distribution of survey data
• Prepare survey/inspection field notes and reports; Document project activities and data
• Transmit survey data to the proper files in the computer network
• Assist in CADD Drafting/Design of technical drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D and other software
• Working and communicating with other team members
• Maintain, organize and prepare equipment and vehicle
• Other duties as assigned
