UX Web Designer

Department: E-Commerce

Reports to: Director of E-Commerce

Essential Functions:

Designs, plans, and executes layout for blackstoneproducts.com for both mobile and

desktop.

Communicates with e-Commerce Director to assess business needs, discuss

requirements, and clarify goals for modifying DTC website.

Meets with the e-Commerce Director on a regular basis to evaluate and modify site as it

seems appropriate and keeps them informed of project progress.

Designs, maintains, and updates information and digitized images, banners, bullets,

charts, image maps, and other graphics to enhance appearance of site and keep the

content and graphics current.

Maintains site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards.

Designs ads for paid social media.

Designs emails that fit the brand and match the website.

Produces and maintains websites that are user-friendly, effective, and appealing.

Creates user interfaces, using front-end code to interface with back-end code.

Gives expert design advice on projects and makes recommendations for improving web

sites.

Coordinates with copywriters, photography and graphic artists to design images, icons,

banners, and audio enhancement.

Makes recommendations on the use of new and emerging technologies or applications

and the opportunities to integrate them into operations and activities.

Monitors performance and results.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Needed:

Bachelor's degree (preferably in art design, web design, or related degree) or related

field with 2-4 years of relevant experience

Experience designing for DTC websites

Knowledge of Shopify themes is preferred, not required.

Understanding the programming of Shopify is preferred, not required.

Keen eye for aesthetics and details

A strong visual and technical portfolio
