Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:To provide comprehensive vocational services to those enrolled in an OASAS Addiction Recovery Program.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Complete timely and accurate completion of required reports needed by OASAS, LGU and agency.
Participate in agency audits of governing bodies.
Maintain quality and standards per OASAS regulations.
Complete monthly statistical reports of vocational services rendered.
OPERATIONAL:
Assess vocational and education needs of individuals.
Develop and implement vocational plan with patient and clinical team.
Complete work readiness, progress notes and paperwork needed for vocational/educational/volunteer placement.
Assist with resume development.
Assist with the development of skills needed for successful job placement.
Perform post-employment support services.
Develop groups and presentations to assist patients in development of their vocational goal.
Maintain caseload of 10-15 patients.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in agency trainings and those mandated by OASAS.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Masters’ degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or Rehabilitation Psychology;or
Certification as a Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC);or
Master’s degree in any counseling or psychology specialization, with one year of experience in the career counseling of clients with alcohol/substance abuse problems and/or clients from other disadvantaged populations;or
Bachelor’s degree in either counseling, psychology specialization , with one year experience in the career counseling of clients seeking recovery with disabling addictions, alcoholism, substance abuse challenges and/or clients from other disadvantage populations
