Job Description

We are seeking potential candidates who are enthusiastic, safe workers and must be self-motivated to work without much supervision. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery to perform tasks related to construction, excavation, and other heavy-duty operations. Your role will involve working in different environments, including construction sites, mining operations, road maintenance projects, and more. You will operate equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, graders, cranes, and other heavy machinery to complete assigned tasks.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment according to job requirements, industry regulations, and company guidelines. This includes operating bulldozers, excavators, loaders, graders, cranes, and other machinery.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functionality and identify any potential issues. Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns promptly to supervisors.

  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), adhering to safety guidelines, and participating in safety training programs.

  • Task Execution: Execute assigned tasks efficiently and accurately using the appropriate equipment. Tasks may include excavation, grading, loading/unloading materials, trenching, paving, or any other tasks related to the construction or maintenance project.

  • Site Preparation: Assist in site preparation activities such as clearing land, removing debris, and leveling surfaces to facilitate construction or excavation work.

  • Material Handling: Operate machinery to transport and distribute materials, such as soil, gravel, rocks, and construction materials, to designated areas on the job site.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with construction crews, supervisors, and other team members to ensure smooth operations and effective communication regarding project requirements and progress.

  • Documentation: Complete required paperwork and documentation related to equipment operation, maintenance, and project reports as necessary.

What We Require:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Valid heavy equipment operator certification or license (if required in your jurisdiction).

  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or similar environment.

  • In-depth knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance procedures.

  • Must be willing and able to work in an outdoor construction work environment with potential exposure to dust, noise, waste, toxic and infectious materials, and possible inclement weather conditions

  • Familiarity with relevant safety guidelines and regulations.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

  • Basic mechanical skills

  • Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging environments.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
