Staff Today Inc. (STI) is currently seeking a Charge Registered Nurse to work at a Behavioral Health Center in Evanston, Wyoming.

Job Details:

  • 7:00 AM-7:30 PM (nurses are on a 3 on 3 off rotation)

  • 7:00 PM-7:30 AM (nurses are on a 3 on 3 off rotation)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervision of nursing staff, directing the nursing staff.

  • Give and receive high quality, in-depth reports, asking questions to ensure the ability to assume care of the patient load. Complete CNA shift assignment sheets.

  • Round on all patients during the first hour of shift (face to face contact with the nurse to patient interaction).

  • Attend and play an active role in team meetings, staff meetings, treatment planning, admissions, discharges, etc.

  • Perform all active treatment interventions as stated in each patient's treatment plan and document towards interventions performed.

  • Utilize good judgment and appropriate decision-making skills especially during a critical incident.

  • Ensure CNA's are completing their delegated duties and documenting appropriately in AVATAR.

  • Ensure staff members are following a 15-minute check policy and 1:1 orders.

  • Perform all admissions and discharges during shift.

  • Complete all charting and assessments as appropriate per the WSH charting policy.

  • Ensure all patients receive quality nursing care, such as managing aggressive behaviors, observing for secondary health problems, monitoring for changes in physical/mental status, monitoring food/fluid I&O, administering medications/treatments, wound care, maintains -indwelling tubes, inserts and cares for catheters, provides respiratory treatments and tracheostomy suctioning/care, etc.

  • Assists in the management of patient's unsafe behaviors utilizing MANDT and verbal de-escalation techniques to provide a safe environment for all. Expected to maintain professional boundaries with patients.

  • Performs administrative duties including creating CNA schedules, maintaining adequate supplies, and informing staff of changes to the protocol.

  • Demonstrates flexibility, able to prioritize and adapt during emergencies.

Job Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of principles of nursing and management processes.

  • Knowledge of the medical diagnosis and treatment of patient care using nursing diagnosis.

  • Knowledge of the organization, planning, and team building.

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of public health nursing.

  • Knowledge of human service management to include supervisory techniques, methods, and standards.

Physical Working Conditions:

  • Lift/transfer patients to different positions.

  • Lift medical/patient equipment of varying sizes and weights up to about 50 lbs.

  • Restrain clients for treatments, climb stairs to patient homes, drive long distances.

  • Work evenings, nights, and /or weekends when the situation requires it.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (typically in Nursing)

  • 1-2 years of progressive experience under nursing license

  • A valid and current RN license issued by the state of Wyoming

  • A valid and current CPR card

  • Proficiency in the English language is necessary for communication with other staff and patients. RN must be able to communicate effectively in oral and written English

  • 4-6 years of progressive experience under nursing license

  • A valid and current RN license issued by the state of Wyoming

  • A valid and current CPR card
