At FiveStar Breaktime Solutions the Lead Cook is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the kitchen staff, ensuring efficient and timely food production. Work Schedule: Typically, you will work Monday-Friday (weekend availability needed) from 6:30am until 2:30pm.

What Will You Do: As the Lead Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers have a delightful dining experience. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers.

  • Oversee food preparation, ensuring recipes are followed accurately and consistently.

  • Monitor food production to maintain quality standards and minimize waste.

  • Train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques, safety procedures, and kitchen equipment operation.

  • Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage.

  • Manage kitchen cleanliness and organization, including equipment maintenance and sanitation.

  • Collaborate with management to develop cost-effective strategies for food production.

  • Handle any kitchen-related issues or customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.

Who We're looking for:

  • Proven experience as a cook or chef, with previous experience in a leadership role preferred.

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Creative culinary skills and a passion for food.

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school or relevant certification is a plus.

General Requirements:

  • Lift and carry 50lbs+ on a repetitive basis, with the ability to reach, bend, and stoop frequently.

  • Consent to a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

  • Follow workplace safety policies and guidelines.
