VCA Animal Hospitals Assistant in Cheshire, Connecticut

We are looking an outgoing team player, who loves helping animals and people to join our very busy GP practice. The ideal candidate will work in conjunction with the technician's to provide the best possible support to the doctors, clients and patients. Experience in the following skills is preferred.

  • low stress handling of anxious cats and dogs

  • restraint of patients for blood draws, catheter placement and procedures

  • be able to assist in or take diagnostic quality radiographs

  • basic diseases and vaccine protocols

  • Running bloodwork samples in our in house lab

  • assist the technicians with admits and discharges

  • Walking, feeding and caring for hospitalized patients

  • Clean and disinfect cages, wards and the treatment area.

  • Remain positive and calm in a busy environment.
