Overview:
Support the Technology Risk Management first line of defense function in accordance with the Enterprise Risk Framework. Perform proactive identification, accurate assessment and reporting of risks impacting technology, including loss events and Key Risk Indicators (KRI's). Ensure the appropriate escalation of identified issues and the timely completion of remediation plans. Review and update program documents, procedures, and templates to ensure compliance with industry guidance and Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead comprehensive and complex risk assessments for technology systems, overseeing the identification, analysis, and mitigation of potential gaps
Formulate and implement risk management plans, inclusive of reporting and documentation that aligns Technology and Cybersecurity practices with business objectives and regulatory requirements
Assist with the design, development, and maintenance the Technology and Cybersecurity Risk Management Program and supporting documentation
Assist with preparation and response to audit engagements, including preparing materials, coordinating responses from various individuals, aiding in exam management
Monitor business unit performance with respect to established key risk indicators (KRIs) and recommend enhancements to strengthen risk control structure
Drive compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and standards
Partner strategically with cross-functional teams and senior leaders to ensure swift and effective action when events occur which are beyond or potentially beyond the Bank's risk appetite
Mentor newer analysts, fostering their professional growth and ensuring a high standard for all risk analysts within the team
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable
Complete other related duties as assigned
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Technology/Cybersecurity risk principles
Minimum of 4 years' relevant work experience in/with the specific Technology/Cybersecurity risk area and/or IT Audit
Education and Experience Preferred:
Proficient level of critical thinking and able to lead problem solving
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience partnering with leadership to design solutions
Excellent ability to strategically seek critical information, and apply to specific processes
Prior experience prioritizing across competing priorities
Proficient persuasive communication skills to gain buy-in of others
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) certification

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $85,104.04 - $141,840.07 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
