Aston Carter Senior Accountant in Bloomington, Illinois

Description:

  • Implementing internal control procedures.

  • Business analytics and complete financial reporting for 5 business lines.

  • Maintain general ledger balances (receivables, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities.

  • Complete quarterly and annual statements for regulatory filings (handled by an outside firm that works directly with this person and the VP).

  • Support Accounts Payable to review transactions and ensure prober expense and G/L allocations.

  • Review bank reconciliations, issue stop payments, and manage payment records.

  • Assist with annual 1099 reporting.

  • Adhoc duties - quarterly reporting package for board of directors , research and improvements projects with the VP of Accounting, support research and documents for 3rd party accounting firm.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance (Accounting preferred but experience is the major need).

  • 5 years plus of Financial Accounting experience.

  • Experience with statutory accounting principles (GAAP within Insurance).
