Job Description:

• The Director of Instructional Programs focusing on alternative education will provide overall leadership, strategic directions and supervision for alternative education programs at the East Learning Center, West Learning Center and the Boys and Girls Club. The Director will be responsible for student programs, personnel management, internal/external relations, staff development, student intake, program budgets, and maintaining a highly qualified instructional teaching staff. The Director will serve as a resource to component districts at the state and local levels, oversee building administrative teams, and serve as a liaison to support program personnel.

• A major component of the job will be to develop and strengthen the existing alternative education programs for middle and high school students. The Director will work as part of the Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Programs' team and accept additional duties and assignments as needed.

Job Qualifications

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• NYS Certification in School District Administration (SDL, SDA)

• Leadership experience and knowledge of instructional practices

• Communication and relationship building skills

• Commitment to the education of all students

• Knowledge of alternative education law & regulations

• Ability to work collaboratively with component school district personnel, community agencies, and business partners
