Robert Half is assisting a non-profit organization who is adding a part-time grant writer to their team.

Grant writer is responsible for preparing and submitting proposals to secure funding from various sources such as government agencies, foundations, corporations, or other grant-making organizations.

Responsibilities include:

• Research: Conducting thorough research to identify potential grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission, programs, and funding needs.

• Proposal Writing: Writing compelling grant proposals that clearly articulate the organization's goals, objectives, activities, and expected outcomes. This involves crafting narratives, budgets, timelines, and other supporting documents as required by the funding organization.

• Collaboration: Working closely with program managers, finance staff, and other relevant stakeholders to gather necessary information and ensure alignment between grant proposals and organizational priorities.

• Grant Management: Monitoring and tracking grant deadlines, requirements, and reporting obligations to ensure compliance with grant agreements and regulations.

• Relationship Building: Cultivating relationships with funders, program officers, and other stakeholders through effective communication, networking, and stewardship activities.

• Evaluation: Participating in the evaluation process to assess the effectiveness of grant-funded programs and activities and using this information to refine future grant proposals and strategies.

• Stay Informed: Keeping abreast of trends, best practices, and changes in the grant-making landscape to maximize funding opportunities for the organization.

Overall the grant writer plays a crucial role in securing financial support for nonprofit organization by effectively communicating their mission and impact to potential funders.

Requirements

Candidates must possess strong writing, research, communication, and project management skills, as well as a deep understanding of the grant-seeking process and the specific requirements of different funding sources.
